REFORM Talk’s Forgotten Angels 2013-2014 UPDATED

In 2012, we honored US adopted children that are missing; missing and presumed dead; killed in previous years and finally received some justice; and/or related to the out-of-original family placements and surrogacy industry that are otherwise forgotten since December 2012.

This post includes all child deaths and children missing from US foster care or adoptions as well as those otherwise forgotten that we could find.

 

Missing

Erica Lynn Parsons. See here. From Rowan County, North Carolina, homeschooled adoptee Erica Lynn Parsons was just reported missing on July 30, 2013 by her older brother. She was last seen on November 19, 2011. Casey Parsons pleaded guilty in Winston-Salem to 16 federal fraud charges.Casey Parsons is set to be sentenced next February. The charges against her husband are still pending.

Still Missing

Still Missing and Presumed Dead

In 2011, it was brought to light that two adoptees from the same family were missing: Austin and Edward Dylan Bryant. See the case  here.

A child nicknamed Moo, foster child of Judith Leekin . See the case here.

Rilya Wilson, 4, went missing in December 2000. In 2011, her foster mother was ordered to trial. It was delayed until end of 2012. Geralyn Graham is currently on trial for murder, though they haven’t found Rilya’s body. See  here.

Jhessye Shockley. See Here. Jhessye’s mother, Jerice Hunter, had been convicted of child abuse and served 4 years in a California prison. After being released in 2010,  Arizona CPS allowed Jerice to take custody of Jhessye from Shirley. On a day in October 2011 when Shirley Johnson was in Maricopa County Superior Court for a custody hearing, Jerice reported Jhessye  as missing. Jhessye’s body has never been found.

Hasanni Campbell. See Here. From Fremont, California, disabled foster child Hasanni Campbell, who was five when he disappeared on  August 10, 2009. His foster mother was his aunt.His foster father, Louis Ross, told police he parked in a Rockridge neighborhood, taking his daughter into a shoe store while leaving Hasanni, who wore leg braces due to cerebral palsy, inside the car. When he returned, Hasanni was gone

Child Deaths-International Adoption

  • Andrew Arthur Butler. See here. A missed case, Ukrainian adoptee, he died on Saturday, June 18, 2011 from a gunshot wound to the head by his adoptive father, William Allan Butler, aged 73 at the time.
  • Max Shatto/Maksim Kuzmin . See here. Russian adoptee, he died on died on January 21, 2013.After he had been systematically beaten and fed with psychoactive drugs by his adoptive mother and revealed multiple injuries to the child’s head and legs, he was later classified as suffering from” a laceration to the small bowel mesentery artery due to blunt trauma in the abdomen” that is “consistent with self injury””.
  • Kimberly and Jamie Reitnauer. See here. Chinese adoptees, they died on April 15, 2013.  It is suspected that adoptive father Gary Reitnauer, 59, had an argument with his wife, Michele, 58. He then went into the garage of another home on their property and started his car to apparently commit suicide by carbon monoxide. He died. Michele and adoptees Kimberly (Yun Jiao ’Kimberly’ Cao), 16, and Jamie (Hongfan), 10, all attempted to save him but were overcome with fumes. Michele and Kimberly died at the scene. Jamie later died at the hospital.
  • Gloria Huang. See  here. Ghana Adoptee, she died in Qatar in January 2013 of cachexia (wasting syndrome) and dehydration. She was only 8 years old.She was homeschooled and did not eat for four days. Adoption Advocates International was he placing agency.Matthew and Grace Huang were sentenced to three years in prison followed by deportation.They appealed and after spending nearly a year in prison, the couple was released last November. They are prohibited from leaving Qatar during their appeal.They were  cleared of charges related to the death of their 8-year-old daughter but were barred from leaving the country Sunday.Then they were able to leave.
  • Hyunsu O’Callaghan. See here.Korean adoptee, he died on February 3, 2014 of skull fracture causing hemorrhaging in his eyes.Brian O’Callaghan,  36-year-old adoptive father, was arrested on  February 16 on charges of first- degree murder and child abuse.Holt Was the placing Agency. Catholic Charities was the homestudy agency. January 16th,2015 is the next status Hearing.
  • Tommy Musser. See  here. Bulgarian adoptee died on Thursday, July 31,2014.A 17-year-old boy accidentally drowned in a bathtub in his Providence Township home on Thursday, a coroner said. He had special needs.
  • Emile Jane Olsen. See here. Chinese adoptee. From Fairfield Township, Ohio, Chinese adoptee Emilie Grace Olsen, 13, has died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Child Deaths-Adoption

  • Jami Levi Caldwell. See here. From  Stanley, North Carolina, he was buried alive on April 7, 2013 when a collapse occurred of a non permitted, unsupported two-story-deep dig site on the property of  Jordan Arwood, 31.  James’ adoptive cousin, Chloe Jade Arwood,6, also was buried alive with him. Their bodies were recovered on April 8, 2013. The judge  dismissed the case against Jordan Arwood charged in the deaths of two children.
  • Buddy Cook. See here. From Cleburne, Texas, he died on March 22, 2013 due to dehydration and malnutrition.  David and Angel Cook,kinship adoptive parents,  were arrested after an autopsy report released Monday indicated Buddy Cook’s death was a homicide. In December 2013, the District attorney dropped the criminal charges against the couple in December 2013. on  April 4 , there other children were returned to them.
  • Two Utah Adoptive children. See here. From West Point, Utah,  the 15-year-old biological son of an adoptive couple has been arrested in the stabbing deaths of his 10-year-old adoptive brother  and 4-year-old adoptive brother.
  • Logan Garrett. See here. From Frisco, Texas, a missed case  from 2011,he died at age 22 months on October 11, 2011.Logan’s adoptive father, Jacky Scott Garrett, aged 40 at the time, was arrested on December 28, 2011. It took until August 2, 2012 for Jacky to be indicted.The official cause of death: blunt-force trauma to the abdomen. The Judge Sentenced Scott Garrett to life in prison without the possibility of parole after jurors convicted him of capital murder.
  • T.J. and Nate Frey. See here. From Prescott, Iowa, adoptees T.J. Frey, 11, and Nate Frey, 9, “had been playing behind their family’s house in Prescott, southwest Iowa on Saturday afternoon but failed to return home.Family members launched a search and discovered the boys’ belongings near to a hole in the ice around 20 yards from shore.They found one of the boys right away, around one foot under water near to the hole.They found the other body about 20 minutes later. No charges were filed.
  • Tia Ann Jones. See here. From Richmond Heights, Ohio, Randy, 41, and Carissa Jones, 44, “have been charged with involuntary manslaughter, child endangering and allowing child abuse” of their adopted daughter — 12 year old Tia Ann Jones. Tia Ann died in February 2013. The autopsy showed “more than 80″ scratches, bruises and scars on her body. But it was a festering staph infection in her legs and pneumonia that took her life.The trial is still pending.
  • Melody Velasquez. See here. From San Antonio, Texas, adoptive parents Norberto Velasquez, 49 and  Matthew Oscar Aranda,48, were arrested 5 years ago in the death of their daughter Melody Velasquez . She died on January 10, 2009.“She was lying in the center of the bed with a large hematoma and contusion to the middle of her forehead,” McNabb said. “There was purple and green bruising around it … In proportion to her head, it was very large. It was not something you would miss.”McNabb said the girl wasn’t breathing and had no pulse when they arrived. He said blood was coming out of her mouth, nose and ears as they performed chest compressions.Authorities say the girl died from blunt force trauma. Her death was ruled a homicide.Velasquez unexpectedly died before he was sentenced. Matthew Aranda, who was convicted in absentia for the January 2009 death of Melody Velasquez and sentenced to 20 years in prison. Matthew Aranda, 49, is awaiting transport to prison, where he will serve a 20-year sentence levied in May after he disappeared during his murder trial.It was during his trial that Aranda fled to Mexico.  He was found last month.Sources said Aranda admitted he was undergoing plastic surgery in Mexico to change his facial appearance.Back in custody, Aranda was formally sentenced Friday November 7, 2014  in court.
  • Terrilynn Destiny Dennis. See here. Newport News,Virginia, Adoptive parents Terri W. Dennis, 31,  and Pamela T. Dennis,40, were arrested on November 6, 2013 for felony child neglect and felony murder in the case of 7-year-old daughter Terrilynn Destiny Dennis , who died on April 4, 2013.A trial is pending on 1/27/15.
  • Connor Eckert. See here. From Newport Beach, California, Adoptee Connor Eckhardt,19, died after taking “K2″, synthetic pot.
  • Brittany Pittman. See here. From Charleston, West Virginia, missed 2013 has come to light. Sixty-nine-year-old adoptive father Roy Roger Pittman killed his 15 year-old Adoptive Daughter Brittany and wounded his 18-year-old adopted son Matthew Pittman on May 24, 2013.Roy now faces one count of murder and one count of attempted murder.
  • Christian Henderson . See here. From Mobile, Alabama,a March 2014 case, Mobile Police responded to Providence Hospital to investigate an incident involving 23 month-old Christian Henderson who later died from his injuries.24-year-old father in the death of his adopted 2-year-oldJohn “Chris” Henderson confessed to punching his 23-month-old four to five times.The DA’s office says the baby, Christian Henderson, suffered lacerations to his liver, pancreas and intestines and died from his injuries.March 24 in the next hearing date.
  • Aloric Smith. See here.From Lubec, Maine, Adoptive Father Edward Smith is facing three charges, including manslaughter, in connection with the death of his adopted son more than two years ago.Aloric Smith, 12, died April 4, 2012. A family member found him unresponsive in his bed at about 6:30 a.m. His adoptive father, Edward Smith, called for an ambulance. The boy was pronounced dead at Down East Community Hospital in Machias.An autopsy determined the boy, who suffered from childhood diabetes, died of natural causes, according to a Maine State Police detective. He was charged with aggravated furnishing of a scheduled drug and endangering the welfare of a child in an indictment handed down by a Washington County grand jury in September 2013.The trial is still pending.

Child Deaths-Guardianship

  • Leah Marie Aguirre. See here.From Crosbyton, Texas, Leah’s dead body was found  wrapped in plastic and intentionally hidden on a shelf behind a box of clothing in Matilda’s basement. Matilda Almaraz, her temporary guardian was sentenced to life in prison.
  • Marie Sadlyne B. Pierre. See here. From Muncie, Indiana, guardians of a Haitian child Charlene Tabb, 29,and Marcus Tabb,53 have been arrested and charged with “neglect of a dependent causing death” in the June 22, 2013 death of the five-year-old girl in their care.Charlene was  convicted of murder in the beating death of her five-year-old cousin.She was sentenced to 87 years in prison.Marcus was found to be guilty of a neglect and guilty of  three counts of aiding, inducing or causing battery, charges that stemmed from his wife’s beatings. Marcus was sentenced to 56 years in prison.
  • Tamiyah Audain.See here. From Miami, Florida, Guardian Latoya Patterson faces life in prison after being charged with felony murder. She was arrested Tuesday and is being held without bail. Investigators called it “child torture.”A Broward grand jury has charged a child welfare caseworker and three other women after a severely disabled girl died while under state care.A cousin who was given custody of 12-year-old Tamiyah Audain after her mother died was among those indicted by grand jurors on Tuesday. Audain’s emaciated body was found in her caregiver’s home last September.The trial is pending.
  • Jasper Henderling-Warner. See here. From Vader, Washington, Guardians Danny Wing,26, and Brenda Wing,27, accused in the October 5 ,2014 death of a 3-year-old boy pleaded not guilty Thursday to charges of homicide by abuse and first-degree manslaughter.January 26,2015 is the next hearing.

Child Deaths-Group-Respite Home/RTC/Hospital/Juvenile Justice Facility

  • Christopher Seaton. See here. From Tulsa, Oklahoma, he was killed when struck by three vehicles as he fled from the group home with another resident.
  • Kendall Oates. See Here. From Nashville, Tennessee, a missed case of Kendall Oates, hedied on May 25, 2012 after suffering “a seizure at Nashville’s Woodland Hills Youth Development Center, where DCS records show he may have lain sick or dead for hours, undetected by a security guard who was supposed to check on him every 15 minutes but did not. ” Tennessee  has agreed to pay the parents of a teen who died in the custody of the Department of Children’s Services $250,000 to settle a wrongful death lawsuit brought by his father.Under the agreement, both sides agreed to keep under seal video footage taken inside the facility and videotaped interviews with the guard on duty the day Kendall Oates died, dormitory logs, DCS employee performance evaluations and all of Kendall’s DCS records.
  • 14-year-old boy. See here. From Banner Elk, North Carolina, an unnamed 14-year-old boy, who resided in the Grandfather Home for children Christian residential treatment center (RTC), drowned  on August 5, 2013 while under the care of a “house parent”.No Charges have been filed.
  • Khalil Todd. See here. From Clayton, North Carolina, Khalil Todd,12, group home resident was killed by” a car outside his Clayton group home Monday evening.” The group home was suspended but the car driver was not charged.
  • Kenneth Barkley. See here. From Berea, Ohio,  “Kenneth Barkley of Cleveland, died Jan. 7 shortly after he became upset with an OhioGuidestone child care worker, punched that worker in the face and was physically restrained.,The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner has ruled the January death of a 15-year-old group home resident who died after being physically restrained a homicide.
  • Damaud Martin. See here. From Laurel,Maryland, a 10-year-old disabled foster child, Damaud Martin, died last week while under the care of a group home in Anne Arundel County that Maryland health regulators were in the process of closing down.Homicide. No Charges have been filed.

Child Deaths-US Foster Care 

  • Elizabeth Holder. See here. From Clearwater, Florida, she had only been in care 8 days when she died on died on January 19, 2013. She died of  endomyocardial fibrosis, aggravated by a severe case of tonsillitis.
  • Genelle Conway-Allen. See here.From Fairfield,California, she “was found naked and dead in Alan Witt Park on early Friday February 1, 2013.” Anthony Lemar Jones was  charged with murder with special circumstances including allegations of committing a murder in the course of kidnapping and rape in connection with Genelle’s death.Genelle injuries were consistent with sodomy, and two hemorrhages under her scalp could be consistent with blunt force trauma prior to her death. It was noted that her neck had the impression of ligature marks, and her wrists had tape residue on them as if her hands had been bound.
  • Khailaysha Bunch. See here. From Bronx, New York, she was found unconscious after a fight with another person in foster care on March 28, 2013 .She had a pre-existing medical history, which may have led to her death.
  • Claudia Nunes. See  here. From Cinnaminson, New Jersey, 1-year-old Claudia died from blunt force injuries to the head on  February 12, 2013 . The foster Mother’s Boyfriend Steven R. Donaldson has been indicted.
  • Joshua Jackson. See here. From Morris County, New Jersey, 2 year old Joshua was born with birth defects and a drug addiction died of a seizure according to World Net Daily.
  • Trenton Mathis. See here. From Cherokee County, Texas, 2 year old foster grandson found a loaded 9 mm pistol on his great grandfather’s nightstand and shot himself in the head. He was pronounced dead at the hospital on May 29, 2013.No charges have been filed in this case.
  • Kaniiyah Easley. See here. From  Newark, New Jersey, 11-month old Kaniiyah Easley died on May 15, 2013 from drowning in one inch of water in a bathtub.No charges have been filed against the foster parent.
  • Tajiere Goldsmith. See here. From Los Angeles, California, an infant foster child, Tajiere Goldsmith, died in a Teens Happy Home placement in 2008. His cause of death has remained undetermined. The foster parent in that case was Teryl Veal,  now deceased.
  • Two and a half-year-old Girl. See here. From  Cranston, Rhode Island, she died on June 19, 2013.She was found unresponsive in her bed in her foster home .No charges have been filed.
  • Alexandria Hill. See here. From Rockdale, Texas, 2-year-old foster child Alexandria Hill died on July 31, 2013 “from injuries police believe she sustained at the hands of her foster mother.” Sherill Small was arrested for Capital Murder. Sherill was found guilty Tuesday of capital murder after a week-long trial in connection with the 2013 death of a two-year-old she was fostering.Small was automatically sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole after the district attorney announced he would not seek the death penalty.
  • Devantae Beard. See here. Moreland, Hill, Ohio, two-year-old foster child Devantae Beard died on September 19, 2013 after being found floating in a pool Labor Day weekend.The foster family kept their eyes off of him for 15 to 19 minutes. No Charges were filed.
  • Dominic Lloyd Lee Elkins . See here.  From Logan, Iowa, a 17-year-old foster child Cody Metzker-Madsen has been arrested in connection with the death of Dominic  Lloyd Lee Elkins whose body was found a western Iowa ravine. A 12-year-old girl was watching TV on Saturday night as her two foster brothers — one 5, the other 17 — played outside.Metzker-Madsen is “mentally challenged,” Ladena Coolman, Don Coolman’s mother, said in an interview. The youth attended a special school in Omaha. Cody pleaded not guilty using the insanity defense. The teen accused of killing his 5-year-old foster brother was found not guilty Friday by reason of insanity. Cody Metzker-Madsen, 18,was committed to a psychiatric unit within the Iowa Department of Corrections for an indefinite period of time.
  • Saharah Weatherspoon. See here. From Ringgold, Georgia,died on January 1, 2014 of head injuries.Foster Mother Clara Edwards arrested in Chattanooga four and half months later.She is still pending trial.
  • Orion Hamilton. See here. From Cedar Park, Texas, two days before Orion Hamilton’s birthday in October 2013, authorities say boyfriend of Heather Hamilton, Jacob Salas,  pinned  the 11-month-old girl’s head to the floor with his knee, fracturing her skull.” His trial is still pending.
  • 23-month-old Foster son. See here. From West Yarmouth, Massachusetts, a 23-month-old foster son died on Thursday,February 13, 2014.No charges were filed.
  • Alysa Horney. See here. From Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Foster Mother Delila Pacheco has been charged  with “first-degree murder in the death of Alysa Horney.”The 2-year-old girl died in December 2013.The  toddler had suffered some sort of blunt-force trauma that resulted in a lacerated liver.Delila was found guilty where she will serve a life sentence.
  • Daniel Lindholm-Wilkins . See here. From Rantoul, Illinois, foster parent Patrick Kennedy, 35 “for an infant boy has been arrested for the child’s murder.”“State’s Attorney Julia Rietz said on Thursday she charged Patrick Kennedy, 35,… with the first-degree murder of Daniel Lindholm-Wilkins, 7 weeks.Paramedics responded and took the child to Carle Hospital. Doctors determined he had subdural hematomas and broken ribs,” Rietz said.She said the medical professionals determined that the injuries that caused the bleeding on the brain were not accidental and “required an adult amount of force.”“The rib fractures were also non-accidental, not caused by the administration of CPR,” she said.His Trial is still ongoing.
  • Samuel Matthew Adams.See here. From Park Hills, Missouri, Foster parent “Jason Dewayne Wells, 33, was charged Friday with abuse or neglect of a child, resulting in death. His wife, Amanda Wells, 30, was charged with hindering prosecution — the same charge filed against her mother, Teri Reeves, 51, of Bismarck.Their 2-year-old foster son died on January 19, 2014.His trial is ongoing.
  • Maurice Cosme. See here. From  Yonkers, New York, a 2 year old was beaten, starved and tied to a bed before dying while in the care of a convicted criminal who was allowed to be his foster parent.Saint Dominic’s Home, a Rockland County foster-care agency, placed her son in the Yonkers home of Cynthia Roman without doing a background check on Roman, according to Bronx Supreme Court papers.Roman has served two stints in state prison.
  • Prinsess. See here. From  Stockton, California, foster parent Paul Teldeschi, 37, was arrested in Belmont on Thursday at a relative’s home. He “was arrested for felony child abuse . An 11-month-old Stockton girl who was allegedly abused by a foster parent has died as a result of her injuries, authorities said.Paul Teldeschi, 37, of Stockton is being held at San Joaquin County Jail on multiple child abuse charges and could face an added charge of homicide in connection with the girl’s death. Homicide. Teldeschi is being held at the San Joaquin County Jail in lieu of $1.2 million bail, according to jail records.He pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the shaken baby death of his infant foster daughter and other child abuse charges.He was sentenced to 24 years and four months .
  • Noah Pryce-Harding. See here.  From Broken Bow, Nebraska, foster mom Brittney Pryce is charged with second degree murder and felony child abuse for the Nov. 22, 2013, death of Noah Pryce-Harding.He died from blunt force injury of the head, and the death was ruled a homicide.Pryce’s second-degree murder charge was dropped. She is currently only charged with child abuse of the second degree.Pryce’s trial is set for February 9, 2015.
  • Eli Simmons. See here. From Louisiana, on April 8, 2013 the Simmonses assert they were summoned to Children’s Hospital in New Orleans and when they arrived they found their son was dead.Eli Simmons had an extensive medical history. A near-drowning in the bathtub at age two left him in a wheelchair, unable to speak or walk. No charges were filed.
  • Aiden Dean Clark. See here.From Charleston, South Carolina, Aiden was born July 7, 2011.After placed in foster care, Aiden essentially suffocated after the foster mother left him alone in a sweater box instead of a crib.Aiden was left unattended in a sweater box that was filled with towels and blankets. He rolled onto his side on Aug. 14, 2011, and fought in vain against cloth and plastic as he gasped for air, she said.. No charges were ever filed.
  • Kadillak Poe-Jackson. See here .From  Wichita, Kansas, “a 10-month-old baby was left alone in a hot car for two to two and a half hours Thursday afternoon. The girl was found dead at around 6:40 pm. Foster Father Seth Jackson pleaded guilty Wednesday to involuntary manslaughter for leaving a 10-month-old girl inside a sweltering car outside of his house in July while he and his partner smoked marijuana.Sentencing is on January 30,2015.
  • Two month old girl.See here. From Huntington, Texas, “a 2-month-old girl has died at an East Texas home as the woman with whom she was living ran an errand and left several other adults to watch the baby.No charges has been filed.
  • 7-month old foster daughter. See here. From Las Vegas, Nevada, Tthe Clark County foster mother did take her ailing foster daughter to the hospital, but doctors needed to run a test to treat her condition, which required consent from the biological mother, she said. Family Services couldn’t locate the biological mother and told Smith it would take two weeks to get a court order allowing the baby to undergo the needed medical procedures .After seven days, medical staff conducted the necessary procedures because the infant’s health had deteriorated, Smith said. The foster mother believes that the baby’s life might have been saved if she’d been treated sooner.No charges were filed.
  • Debra Johnson. See here.From  Saginaw, Michigan, Foster Mother Wendy S. Leeck, 44, is charged with involuntary manslaughter of Debra Johnson on August 25,2013.She fed her 2-year-old daughter a peanut butter sandwich the state alleges Leeck knew the child could not eat by herself.The child subsequently choked to death, authorities said.She pled guilty to third degree child abuse and  Was sentenced to a three months on a tether and two years probation and ordered her to pay $700 in fines and costs and $720 in probation fees.
  • Riley and Jenetta Smith. See here. From Austin ,Texas,  Riley Smith, 4, and his 6-year-old sister, Jenetta Smith drown “in a Georgetown lake Sunday evening. The children’s foster parents were also at the lake, according to the state.The foster parents were at the park but apparently not in the water with the children.No Charges are pending.

  • Tariji Gordon. See here.From Altamonte Springs, Florida,2 year old Tariji’s body was found buried in a shallow grave in Crescent City. Fryer was later charged with murder in the young girl’s death.
  • Chassie Pietrolungo. See here.From Pueblo, Colorado, Sarah Finn is facing a charge of child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury, a class 3 felony.Paul Finn is facing a charge of withholding proper medical care, a class 4 felony.An emergency room doctor told officers the 2-year-old girl was suffering from a brain bleed and had injuries to her face and eyes. She also had bruises on her buttocks.She died.She was identified as 2-year-old Chassie Pietrolungo.Sarah was released from jail because she is pregnant.The trial is still pending.

See  here.From  Long Branch,New Jersey, Veronica Roach,10, was killed along with her foster mother.Authorities say a New Jersey man who served 13 years in prison for aggravated sexual assault strangled his cousin and her foster daughter after the woman caught him taking pornographic photos of the 10-year-old.Fifty-eight-year-old Brian Farmer is being held on $2.5 million bail on murder and child endangerment charges.

See here. From Grand Junction ,Colorado, 20-year-old Foster mother Sydney Danielle White was arrested on suspicion of child abuse resulting in death after she allegedly killed an 11-month-old girl.She is accused of shaking to death Angel Lance Place by her throat after White couldn’t get the baby to stop crying Sept. 15. She was arrested Friday. She has been charged with first-degree murder as well as child abuse resulting in death.

See here. From Bel Aire, Kansas, a foster home in under State investigation after a 4-month-old girl was pronounced dead at the scene at the home a little after 3 a.m. Thursday, Sedgwick County Sheriff Jeff Easter said Tuesday. The baby and her 18-year-old mother were sleeping on a basement couch when the mother apparently rolled onto the girl, he said.
  • Andrew Prior. See here. From Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Mallory Krajian, 25, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of child abuse murder of her 3-year-old foster child.Kraijian’s husband [Peter]was also arrested for child abuse but was involved in a different case.The 3-year-old boy in question was taken to a hospital Aug. 27 with a head injury.Police say the 3-year-old later died from blunt force trauma to the head.
  • Infant. See here. From  Owatonna, Minnesota, Joleen Anderson,51, lost her license after a baby died in her care. She left an infant on its stomach in a crib while she went upstairs. The complaint says Anderson then left the home for awhile, leaving the infant in someone else’s care. When she returned, the infant was found unresponsive.Emergency crews were not able to resuscitate the child, and the infant died.
  • 1-month-old infant. See here. From Norfolk, Virginia, “ police are investigating the death of a 1-month-old after the child was found unresponsive Thursday morning.Officer Daniel Hudson with Norfolk police said a baby boy was found not breathing at an apartment . No charges are filed.

From Las Vegas, Nevada,a man and toddler died Sunday in an apparent murder-suicide on the west side of the valley.The man and his wife apparently recently became foster parents of two children. Metro believes the man killed one of the foster children in an apartment bedroom, and then went to a car in the parking lot and killed himself.An 18-month-old girl who died in foster care in October died from a Descarboethoxyloratadine Intoxication overdose, which is an antihistamine also known as Claritin or Clarinex.

From Port St. Lucie, Florida, foster parent  Michael Beer,47, was in court Thursday morning after he was arrested on first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse charges in the death of his 2-year-old foster child, Tristan Eli Frank Adams.An autopsy performed on Adams ruled the death as a homicide. Medical examiners say there were lacerations to Adam’s liver, along with other internal bleeding and bruising that would be consistent with blunt force trauma.Michael Beer is charged with homicide and child abuse in the toddler’s death. He made a not guilty plea.A trial is still pending.
  • Dakota Lee Ross-Hall. See here. From Midland, Texas, a [foster] baby battles for his life after nearly choking to death.The one-year-old began to choke on a baby wipe. A baby has been taken off life-support.
  • Infant. See here.From Bemidji, Minnesota, Foster parents had their license revoked  following the death of an infant.The foster parents violated protocol to prevent Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. WDIO-TV  reports the baby died last July after being placed on a folded sleeping bag with blankets on top.No charges have been filed.
  • Kendrea Johnson. See here. From  Brooklyn Park, Minnesota,foster Daughter Kendrea Johnson,6, was found unresponsive with a jump rope around her neck in a foster-care home.  She later died at a hospital.No charges have been filed.
  • Allenia Bledsoe. See here.From Sacramento, California, foster child  Allenia Bledsoe was found dead in an Elk Grove foster home Nov. 7, said Detective Josh Magdaleno of the Elk Grove Police Department.Charges have still be filed.
