New Hope Christian Services, Inc. dba New Hope For Children Accreditation Suspended UPDATED
According to the Department of State,”On March 18, 2015, the Council on Accreditation (COA) suspended the accreditation of New Hope Christian Services, Inc. dba New Hope For Children for a minimum of 30 days and until appropriate corrective action has taken place. COA is the Department of State’s designated accrediting entity for adoption service providers under the Hague Adoption Convention (Convention), the Intercountry Adoption Act of 2000 and the Intercountry Universal Accreditation Act (UAA). COA has found that New Hope Christian Services, Inc. dba New Hope For Children has failed to maintain substantial compliance with the accreditation standards at 22 Code of Federal Regulations Part 96 Subpart 27 and therefore decided to impose adverse action against the agency in the form of suspension effective as of March 18, 2015. As a result of this suspension, New Hope Christian Services, Inc. dba New Hope For Children must cease to provide all adoption services in connection with intercountry adoption cases for the period of suspension and until corrective action has been taken. Please note that this suspension affects New Hope Christian Services, Inc. dba New Hope For Children’s ability to provide adoption services in both Convention cases and non-Convention cases subject to the UAA. Persons with an open case with New Hope Christian Services, Inc. dba New Hope For Children should contact the adoption service provider directly to find out how the suspension will affect their adoption services.
The suspension will begin on March 18, 2015, and will last for at least 30 days from that date. In order for the suspension to be lifted at the end of the 30 days, New Hope Christian Services, Inc. dba New Hope For Children must complete corrective action required by the accrediting entity. The Council on Accreditation (COA) announced that, effective August 21, 2015, it lifted the March 18, 2015 suspension of the Hague accreditation of New Hope Christian Services, Inc. dba New Hope for Children. New Hope Christian Services, Inc. dba New Hope for Children completed its corrective action plan to COA’s satisfaction.
The agency is currently in the process of seeking renewal of their Hague accreditation to provide intercountry adoption services.”
