From Bellevue, Nebraska, foster mother Kim Carrera, 46, was “arrested” ” suspected of having inappropriate sexual contact with a 17-year-old foster child who had been placed in her care.”

“Kim Carrera, 46, and a 17-year-old male were found in a vehicle parked behind a Bellevue business Thursday night around 11:30 pm. At the time, officers suspected that inappropriate sexual contact had taken place between the two of them.

Upon further investigation, it was determined that the teenager was a ward of the State of Nebraska who had been placed in Carrera’s home through Nebraska Families Collaborative. Carrera is a foster parent with Nebraska Families Collaborative, which is a contract agency with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.

Bellevue Police served a search warrant on Carrera’s home on Friday. Carrera was arrested and taken to the Sarpy County jail on felony charges of 2nd Degree Sexual Assault of a Protected Person. She remains in custody and is set to appear in court on Tuesday.”

“A foster mom in Sarpy County accused of inappropriate sexual conduct with a teen in her care has been granted bond.

Kim Carrera, 46, is being held on $10,000 bond.

She has been ordered to have no contact with the victim.

According to the Bellevue Police Department, officers found Carrera inside her vehicle behind a clothing store near 15th and Cornhusker in Bellevue with a 17-year-old male.

Investigators discovered that Carrera is a foster parent, and the teen was placed in her care in July of 2015.

She was charged with 2nd degree assault of a protected person.

Carrera is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing September 22.”

Update: “A woman suspected of having inappropriate sexual contact with a foster child in her care turned herself in as she faces additional charges.

Kim Carrera, 47, turned herself in Tuesday morning after a warrant was issued for her arrest. Bellevue Police say Carrera removed information from her cell phone directly related to her previous charges of 2nd-Degree Sexual Assault of a Protected Person.

Carrera was originally arrested back in August after police said she was found in a vehicle parked behind a Bellevue business with a 17-year-old male who was placed in her care. Officers suspected that inappropriate sexual contact had taken place.

Carrera was a foster parent with Nebraska Families Collaborative, which is a contract agency with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.

Carrera has been released from the Sarpy County Jail after posting a 10% of $10,000 bond.”

Update 2: “A jury found a metro woman guilty of child and sexual abuse in court on Monday.

Kim Carrera was found guilty of three felony charges. They included tampering with physical evidence, intentional child abuse with no injuries and sexual abuse of a protected person.

Bellevue Police arrested Carrera in 2015 when it was suspected she was having inappropriate sexual contact with a 17-year-old foster child who had been placed in her care.

Carrera and the boy were found in a vehicle parked behind a Bellevue business. At the time, officers suspected that inappropriate sexual contact had taken place between the two of them.
