From St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana, foster mom Terry Crowe, ” is accused of battering three special needs adults in her care.”
“Terry Crowe was charged with three counts of cruelty to the infirmed, two counts of second-degree battery and one count of aggravated battery.
“The charges came after two of the special need adults, ages 18 and 22, that were in her care told a teacher at the high school they attended that Crowe had hit them. They also reported that Crowe had battered another 36-year-old special needs adult that was living at Crowe’s home,” said a statement from the sheriff’s office.
All three people, an 18-year-old, 22-year-old and 36-year-old, in her care had visible marks and bruises. One of the infirmed had been adopted by Crowe and all three had been in her care for several years, according to the sheriff’s office.
Five additional special needs individuals, four adults and one 11-year-old child, also lived in the home and were being cared for by Crowe.
The 11-year-old has been removed from the home by the Department of Child and Family Services and the adults are receiving 24-hour care from Adult Protective Services.
Crowe remains in the St. Tammany Parish Jail, where she is being held on a $55,000 bond. ”
