How Could You? Hall of Shame-DCF Jacquelin McMiller

This will be an archive of heinous actions by those involved in child welfare, foster care and adoption. We forewarn you that these are deeply disturbing stories that may involve sex abuse, murder, kidnapping and other horrendous actions.

From Fort Myers, Florida, “a Fort Myers woman who was supposed to look out for our children is accused of child abuse.

Jacquelin McMiller works with the Department or Children and Families and was put on administrative leave August 10 after allegedly striking a child with a belt.

She made her first appearance in court Thursday morning.

“If we have an individual who’s more or less a wolf watching the sheep, it’s very concerning,” family law attorney Kimberly Erwin said.

McMiller was charged with cruelty toward a child, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

“I’ve read the narrative, determined that there is sufficient probable cause,” the judge said Thursday.

Police reports said she hit a young boy with a belt on August 8 and left him with bruises. The bruises were noticed by a doctor the next day who reported it to DCF.

They opened an investigation on August 10.

McMiller posted her $10,000 bond Thursday.

Her lawyer had no comment on the case.

McMiller will be back in court on September 24.”
