How Could You? Hall of Shame-Jamie Anderson case-Child Death

This will be an archive of heinous actions by those involved in child welfare, foster care and adoption. We forewarn you that these are deeply disturbing stories that may involve sex abuse, murder, kidnapping and other horrendous actions.

From Carlisle, Ohio, “Police are investigating the death of a [foster child Jamie Anderson, a ]16-year-old girl whose body was found on railroad tracks Tuesday in Carlisle.

The incident took place around 8:30 a.m. between Bleacher Road and Robert Place in Carlisle.

The tracks run by Robert Williford’s home.

“I woke up and looked out my window and saw police cars sitting out here outside my driveway. I come out and seen several other police officers here, looked down the track and they was walking west on the track,” he said.

Police said the teen, Jamie Anderson, was reported as a missing runaway to the Sheriff’s Office Tuesday morning.

Police say they don’t know why she was on the tracks or what she was doing.

She was not near a crossing.

“We really don’t know what exactly happened, but we know the consequences of what happened,” Chief Michael Bruck said.

Police said she was a foster child and sophomore at Carlisle High School who was living just outside town.

“We have to prepare for those kinds of scenarios and situations and you just hope you don’t have to that very often. So it’s a sad day, certainly, but we’re here for our kids,” Superintendent Larry Hook said.

Counselors will be on hand for students this week.

Police said there’s no indication the death was a suicide.

Police said it appears she was struck by a train, saying kids “use the tracks as shortcuts.”

There was no bike or car near the area where she was found, and the area is not near a crossing, police said.

The coroner’s office is on the scene, investigating.

““It’s impossible to determine from the injuries whether this was a suicide or an accident, but the medical exam may gleam some more information in that direction,” he said.

Officials will do a full medical exam, including toxicology, which should help them determine more.”
