How Could You? Hall of Shame-James Bradley case-Child Death

This will be an archive of heinous actions by those involved in child welfare, foster care and adoption. We forewarn you that these are deeply disturbing stories that may involve sex abuse, murder, kidnapping and other horrendous actions.

From Detroit, Michigan, though it has been 4 years since James Bradley died by homicide at age 3, there still have been no charges filed!

“”Someone grabbed him underneath his arms, torso, and shook him and/or, if you will, bashed his head against something very, very hard that led to these type of injuries,” Johnson [attorney for biological family] said.

Bradley had a skull fracture and massive swelling and bleeding in his brain. Doctors had to remove 70-percent of his skull to try to relieve the pressure.

His foster parents and a foster sibling all denied involvement making it difficult to charge anyone.

Attorneys Johnson and Wix with the Fieger Law Firm are now suing Bradley’s foster parents — Christine Woodward and her husband, Lasana Karva — as well as the Ennis Center for Children, which was responsible for making sure Bradley was safe.

The lawsuits seeking millions in federal and state court are on behalf of Bradley and his biological family. He and his siblings had been removed from their home because one child was sexually abused by the father. The mother was working toward reunification.

Bradley was placed with a foster family and ended up with twelve stitches in his head. Then he was placed with Woodward and Karva where he was burned on his hand and, a few weeks later, he was dead.

“These are the type of people that have to be weeded out of the foster care system,” said Johnson.”
