How Could You? Hall of Shame-Heather Kaminskey, Jeremy and Jamiee Brown UPDATED

This will be an archive of heinous actions by those involved in child welfare, foster care and adoption. We forewarn you that these are deeply disturbing stories that may involve sex abuse, murder, kidnapping and other horrendous actions.

From Corbin, Kentucky, Heather Kaminskey, 30, traded her son to Jeremy Brown, 29, and Jamiee Brown, 32, for a silver 1999 Dodge Dakota.
“Deputies say she later sold the truck for $800 and an undisclosed amount of meth. ”

NBC Philadelphia says “Police said they discovered the scheme when Kaminskey tried sell the vehicle. They arrested the Browns and charged them with human trafficking. The baby boy appeared to be well taken care of, investigators said.

Kaminskey, police said, might be in Florida and they are hoping to obtain warrants for her arrest. She apparently called neighbors of the Browns on Thursday and told them that she’s distraught over what happened and that she wants to return to Kentucky, WKYT reported.”

Courier-Journal says “The arrests were made Thursday [July 12, 2012], Sizemore said.

They found the truck near Keavy, Ky., but not the child, the sheriff’s office said.

The truck’s registration led investigators to the Browns, who had a 6-month-old child in their home, the sheriff’ office said.

The sheriff’s office said the Browns told investigators various stories of how the child, who was Kaminskey’s, came to live with them, until admitting that they’d given up a pick-up for the baby.

Lt. Rodney Van Zant of the Laurel County Sheriff’s Department told The Times-Tribune that the Browns at first said the baby was the product of an extra-marital affair between Jeremy Brown and Kaminskey.

Kentucky child protection officials now have the 6-month-old, Sizemore said.

The Browns have three biological children who were placed with relatives, the sheriff’s office said”

WTVQ says “Deputies say Kaminskey has family in Florida, and had two children there that were taken by social services.
Officials add that she left Florida while nine months pregnant to have the baby in Kentucky. ”
