Wednesday Weirdness-Nastiest Consequence of Not Disclosing Identity

Welcome to Wednesday Weirdness, a recurring theme where we post something truly weird and wacky in adoption or child welfare.

This is what happens when people don’t disclose parentage.

This woman was raised by who she thought were her parents, but they turned out to be her grandparents. The family friend was really her mother. She never learned who her father was. So, after her first marriage ended after having three children, she met and married another older man. AFTER the second husband’s death, her uncle comes forward to disclose that the second husband was actually her father. She has since confirmed this with a DNA test of hair that she had from a hairbrush.
