Adoption Alliance, a Colorado Adoption Agency, is Closing

The JCICS-member and COA-approved adoption agency, Adoption Alliance (Colorado) has announced that it is closing, citing a downturn in international adoption placements. They directly place from Ukraine and partner with numerous agencies for other countries. Ethiopia was one of the countries that they partner with other agencies in. Their partners are listed on their website.

Their website does NOT indicate that they are closing. In fact, they still have an end-of-the year appeal for money prominently displayed on their website.

For those of you who track Russian adoptee deaths, they were the placing agency of  Viktor Alexander Matthey (Viktor Sergievich Tulimov). Can you guess the homestudy agency? It starts with a “B”, ends in a “y” and has “ethan” in the middle. (Bethany was also the placing agency for Kairissa XingJing Mark, the Chinese adoptee killed in 2010 and Emma Mei Alvey , the Chinese adoptee who died on October 24, 2005.)

Wanting to be magnanimous during this holiday season, we thought we would give a free graphic to other struggling adoption organizations, Special Needs ministries or (collector) families to use to boost their confidence or market themselves in this tough economy. It is a motivational safety scoreboard, (like you see in grocery stores that keep track of their number of accidents on site) in which you can plug in the correct number for the x at the bottom:
