From Bowenpally, India, on Friday [ October 18, 2013]” a 45-year-old man [was arrested] on [a] charge of raping his adopted daughter and making her pregnant.

The heinous crime committed by accused Rammurthy, who hails from Srikakulam, came to light when the 22-year-old victim complained to her family members that the former had exploited her sexually. He had also threatened to kill her if she informed the matter to her parents.

However, the victim mustered courage and told her parents about Rammurthy’s misdeeds.

Based on a complaint lodged by her family members, the police booked a case against the accused and arrested him. The accused had adopted her when she was a school student, the police said.”
