Adoptee Kills Adoptive Mother and Wounds Adoptive Father

“Authorities in South Carolina say a stabbing left a woman dead, a man in the hospital, and the couple’s recently-adopted 15-year-old son under arrest.

The teen had been living with the victims near Columbia since December 2021 and he was reportedly enrolled in school after the holidays.

WACH reported the teen was then disciplined at school multiple times for non-violent and rebellious behavior.

The Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office identified the murdered mother as 41-year-old Angelymar Morrison and said neither the victims nor young suspect have prior records.

They said the call about the stabbings came late Monday afternoon, and the teen left the area. He reportedly crashed a car and ran away from that scene.

Authorities started a manhunt and caught the teen about an hour later.

He will be petitioned in family court for murder, attempted murder, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and he’s being held at the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice.”
