From Columbia, Missouri, foster parent Angelica Ehrhardt “has been charged with child abuse after she allegedly bit a child at a day care to discipline them.”

“Angelica Ehrhardt, 35, was charged Tuesday [September 30, 2025} with child abuse, a class D felony, in connection to the reported incident on Sept. 16.

Ehrhardt allegedly came to the day care following a report that a child was having behavioral issues, took the child into a separate room, and bit them, according to a probable cause statement.

A witness, who was one of the owners of the day care, reported the child crying and yelling in the separate room and that they came out of the room with a bite mark on their arm, according to the probable cause statement.

The Columbia police officer who wrote the probable cause statement said they saw the bite mark, which had abrasions that looked like teeth.

Ehrhardt allegedly admitted to biting the child while disciplining them, according to the statement.

Ehrhardt posted bond on Sept. 17, according to court records. She has an initial appearance set for Oct. 27 at the Boone County Courthouse.”
