How Could You? Hall of Shame-Johnnie Douma

From Albuquerque, New Mexico, foster parent Johnnie Douma was arrested “for an alleged case of abuse involving a 4-year-old child in Albuquerque [in August 2025].

Detectives say a worker at the child’s school alerted police about a 4-year-old child’s injuries. The school worker reportedly noticed bruising on the back of the child’s ears.”

The foster mother, Johnnie Douma, allegedly told police she grabbed the child’s ear when he was falling in the bath. Douma claims he has poor balance from being exposed to fentanyl before birth.

Doctors at UNM Hospital looked him over and said the injuries were suspicious. Police arrested Douma and prosecutors are pushing for her to stay in jail until her trial.”
