This will be an archive of heinous actions by those involved in child welfare, foster care and adoption. We forewarn you that these are deeply disturbing stories that may involve sex abuse, murder, kidnapping and other horrendous actions.

From Monterey, Tennessee, foster grandmother, Linda Charlene Stevens, 69, “has been charged with criminally negligent homicide” in the April 15, 2026 death of 7-month-old, Gabrielle Alonzo, when she left her in a car at Monterey Branch Library.

“The baby was left locked in her car seat until about 4 p.m., when a family member called Stevens to ask about the child’s whereabouts, according to Dunaway. That’s when the 7-month-old was found dead inside the vehicle.

Stevens was booked into the Putnam County Jail on Friday morning, and she is being held on a $50,000 bond.”
