How Could You? Hall of Shame-Bryanica Houston Loud-Child Death

From Farmerville, Louisiana, foster mother Bryanica Houston Loud was arrested “following an investigation into the August death of a six-year-old child in Union Parish.”

“On August 28, deputies launched an investigation after a six-year-old child was taken to Union General Hospital following a medical emergency. The child was later pronounced dead. Loud was identified during the investigation as the child’s foster mother.

UPSO investigators continued working the case with the Union Parish Coroner’s Office and the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services, collecting evidence and conducting multiple interviews. The child’s autopsy determined the cause of death to be methamphetamine intoxication.

During the investigation, investigators learned that Loud said methamphetamine had been left on a table and was knocked to the floor when the child pulled on the tablecloth, where the child was able to access and ingest it.”

“Based on the findings of the investigation, an arrest warrant was submitted for Loud’s arrest. Loud was found and arrested in Lincoln Parish on Wednesday. She was booked into the Union Parish Detention Center on the negligent homicide and second degree cruelty to juveniles.”

“Loud’s bond was set at $650,000.”
