How Could You? Hall of Shame-Zamora Robinson case-Child Death
This will be an archive of heinous actions by those involved in child welfare, foster care and adoption. We forewarn you that these are deeply disturbing stories that may involve sex abuse, murder, kidnapping and other horrendous actions.
From Augusta, Georgia, the infant daughter of a former foster child, Zamora Robinson, 3 months old, “died Saturday morning was the victim of an apparent fatal dog attack that occurred overnight while the child was co-sleeping with a Cane Corso
, a sheriff’s report says.” [The Cane Corso, famous for its immense jaw strength, with an estimated bite force of about 700 PSI (pounds per square inch). This puts it in a similar league to a lion!]
“Richmond County authorities were called to the …around 9:21 a.m. after receiving a report of a deceased infant, identified by the coroner as 3-month-old Zamora Robinson.
The woman caring for the child, 37-year-old Molly Hudson, told investigators she had been caring for Zamora, the infant daughter of a former foster child, along with seven foster children. Hudson reported that she allowed the infant and her Cane Corso dog, Carl, to co-sleep with her during the night.
Hudson said she went to bed around 1 a.m. and later woke up to find the infant missing. The report describes the horror that she found:
“When she woke this morning, Zamora was not in the bed, and as she sat up, she found the floor and the walls with blood on them. As Hudson left the room, she found Zamora unresponsive in the hallway with injuries from the dog’s teeth.”
The infant was unresponsive, and Central EMS personnel responded to the scene and notified the coroner.
Zamora’s mother, identified in the report as Carielle Robinson, also responded to the home. Authorities noted that Hudson had been temporarily caring for the child at the home of Hudson, who was her former foster mother.
Animal Control officers responded and took possession of the Cane Corso involved in the incident.
The home was being used as a foster placement and, according to the report, also housed seven foster children ranging in age from 5 to 17.
In a prior statement, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office said deputies secured the scene immediately, removed all occupants safely, and began interviewing witnesses while investigators processed evidence.
Officials have not said whether any charges are being considered. Investigators continue to review the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
